⁵ The Lord saw that the wickedness of men upon the earth was great, and that every plan that their hearts conceived was nothing but evil. ⁶ The Lord regretted that he had made man upon the earth and his heart was grieved. ⁷ The Lord said, “I will obliterate man, whom I created, from the earth. Together with man I will eliminate all the cattle and reptiles and the birds of the air, for I regret having made them.”
